Ann Hering – Occupational Therapist
I have worked in the pediatric field for the last 12 years providing treatment in both the home and clinic setting. I have specific interest in prematurity and high risk medical diagnoses. My experiences include working in a variety of settings including hospital based adult rehab and clinical placements in NICU and PICU settings at both Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary College, Milwaukee in 1992. I have attended a variety of continuing education coursework over the years including: Neuro-Developmental Treatment for children - 8 week course, Therapeutic Listening both Basic and Advanced, Sensory Integration (SI) treatment interventions, Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, Therapeutic treatment using the ball and coursework emphasizing feeding and handwriting skill development.
I enjoy working with children and helping their families identify their strengths/gifts that help move them forward despite identified medical or developmental challenges. Listening to the families and providing therapy interventions that address the family's individual goals is emphasized in my treatment approach. I enjoy educating family members and primary caregivers so that carryover of treatment ideas makes sense to them and become integrated into their daily lives/routines. I also enjoy working with the physical therapist, speech therapists, early childhood educators and nurses to provide continuity of care in the treatment of the child.
I am married with two children. My son has speech delays and has received therapy through Birth-Three programming and school based services. Having these personal experiences helps me relate to the parents that I work with on a weekly basis and helps guide my intervention strategies.

Julaine Boening – Occupational Therapist
As a pediatric occupational therapist, I find fulfillment and joy working with young children and their families. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in occupational therapy in 1991. I have worked over the years in a variety of settings including hospitals, sub-acute rehab units, outpatient clinics, and for the Birth-to-Three Program in Sheboygan County. I enjoy working with children of all ages.
My goal as a pediatric therapist is to assist each child to reach his or her greatest potential through exercise and play. My treatment sessions consist of strengthening activities, fine motor and gross motor activities, sensory integration and activities of daily living tasks. I seek to incorporate fun and excitement into each session while keeping the client's and families' goals in mind. Caregiver training is also a focus of my therapy. I feel that educating parents about their child promotes carryover in the home and better progress towards their child's goals. I truly enjoy servicing the children of Sheboygan County and love being an Occupational Therapist.

It is my pleasure to be working in the field of pediatrics as an occupational therapist. I graduated from Concordia University of Wisconsin with my Master Degree in Occupational Therapy and through this schooling, I have received the foundation of the skills, theories, and philosophies that I use in my practice. I continue to attend classes and workshops to advance my skills to better serve my families.
I feel that working together as a team including parents, children, and other therapists makes working with children very rewarding. It is my philosophy to assist children with gaining the skills necessary to interact with their environment and family. Working together to increase the child's functional abilities now as a child will propel them into the future to become individuals being able to be a part of society and not an individual labeled due to a weakness. I enjoy working with families empowering them with the tools that will help them succeed in the future.

Since I began my education for a Bachelors of Science, pediatrics was always a primary focus for my research and case studies. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2006. Since then, I have worked closely with the pediatric population, ages birth to 21. I have been fortunate to expand my knowledge through several continuing education classes, emphasizing a variety of areas in the pediatric field including treatment of the baby, rib cage mobility, neuro-developmental treatment, and sensory integration techniques.
I thoroughly enjoy working with the pediatric population, as I am able to apply my knowledge as a skilled occupational therapist and enjoy all of the wonderful ways that children view and experience the world. My goal as a pediatric therapist is to best allow each child to function on a daily basis to his or her maximum potential. I pride my sessions on providing a fun and stimulating environment, while incorporating strategies to improve fine motor and self-care skills. I understand and respect the team approach within the Birth to Three program and work closely with the family to help meet their child's needs. I feel truly lucky to be able to be a part of each child's life and welcomed into their homes!
